Engagement is an important part of our law reform work. We seek input from a broad range of stakeholders and communities, and contribute to conversations about law reform through consultations, conferences, presentations and other events.

The Queensland Law Society Specialist Practice Conference brings together legal practitioners and industry experts for three days of professional development, networking and discussion across a range of specialist practice areas.
QLRC Chair Fleur Kingham, together with Matthew Corrigan and Rachna Nagesh, will present Reforming the criminal defences landscape: exploring the recommendations of the QLRC Criminal Defences Review on 9 October 2026.

Griffith University’s 2026 Michael Whincop Memorial Lecture explores the challenges posed by artificial intelligence to the law of evidence and considers how legal systems may respond as emerging technologies increasingly affect the reliability of evidence.
QLRC Chair Fleur Kingham will deliver the lecture, When seeing is no longer believing: how AI compromises evidence law and how we might respond.

Hosted by the University of Queensland Law School and the Queensland Law Reform Commission (QLRC), this is an opportunity for a public discussion of law reform, juries, and jury research, and to explore key issues relevant to jury decision-making.
This lecture brings together three distinguished panellists to speak about how best to support humans to make ‘good-quality’ decisions in a trial context. Attendees of the jury research and practice conference and members of the public are welcome to attend this event.

The Queensland Law Reform Commission and Bond University’s Faculty of Law are proud to host the Australasian Law Reform Agencies Conference (ALRAC) 2027. ALRAC is a two-day conference dedicated to exploring key issues relating to law and policy reform, featuring a diverse range of experts and leaders in the field.
ALRAC is a unique opportunity for discussion and collaboration between law reform agencies, the legal profession, government representatives, academics and other stakeholders interested in law reform.
The conference theme is Reforming the law in the age of disinformation and distrust.
